Thank you for considering Mountville Baseball for your player and family! Mountville Baseball has a long and successful history at all age levels and our experienced coaching staffs focus heavily on player development.

Any child who lives in the Hempfield School District is eligible to register for Mountville Baseball.

Mountville Baseball offers 14u, 12u, and 10u Travel programs plus an IB (Instructional Baseball) program and a Tball program in the spring. Please read below for additional information about each program.

 

About 14u, 12u, and 10u Travel Baseball:
These programs are geared towards older players but we have teams at each age group that can accommodate any level of experience (even first time players). The Travel Baseball program is competitive baseball, focusing on both winning and player development.

Spring Travel Baseball teams are typically announced in the beginning of February and will begin team practices shortly there after. Spring Travel Baseball teams normally practice 4-5 times per week for the first couple months (until games start), then it may become approximately 2-3 practices per week plus 1-3 games that same week. Spring season Lancaster County Youth Baseball League games are typically played on weekdays, but your particular Spring team may decide to participate in additional tournaments on select weekends. Spring Travel Baseball commitments may be on any day of the week (weekday and/or weekends).

Fall Travel Baseball teams are typically announced in Mid-August and will begin team practices shortly there after. Fall Travel Baseball teams normally practice 4-5 times per week for the first couple weeks (until games start), then it may become approximately 3-4 practices per week (on weekdays) and also a double-header game that same week (on either Saturday or Sunday). Fall Travel Baseball commitments may be on any day of the week (weekday and/or weekends).

Equipment needed for Travel Baseball: Baseball Bat (BBCOR for 14u, USSSA or USA for 12u/10u), Baseball Glove, all white Baseball Pants for games, any color Baseball Pants for practice, Baseball Cleats, plus a Batting Helmet is suggested (but shared team helmets are available too).

About IB Baseball:
This program is primarily geared towards beginner players between 6-10 years old and focuses on player development.

Spring IB teams are typically announced in Mid-March and will begin team practices shortly there after. Spring IB teams normally practice 3-4 times per week for the first few weeks (until games start), then it may become approximately 1-2 practices per week plus 1-2 games that same week. Spring IB commitments primarily fall on weekdays but Saturday practices or games (rain dates) are possible.

Fall IB teams are typically announced in Mid-August and will begin team practices shortly there after. Fall IB teams normally practice 3-4 times per week for the first few weeks (until games start), then it may become approximately 2-3 practices per week plus 1-2 games on Friday night. Fall IB commitments primarily fall on weekdays but Saturday practices or games (rain dates) are possible.

Equipment needed for IB: Baseball Bat (any bat is acceptable), Baseball Glove, Baseball Pants are suggested (for games and practices) but athletic/sweat pants are acceptable, Baseball Cleats are suggested (for games and practices) but sneakers are acceptable, plus a Batting Helmet with a full metal face guard is suggested (but shared team helmets with a face guard are available too).

About Tball Baseball:
This program is primarily geared towards beginner players between 4-6 years old and focuses on introducing players to the basics of the game of baseball.

Spring Tball teams are typically announced in Mid-March and will begin team practices shortly there after. Spring Tball teams normally practice 2-3 times per week for the first few weeks (until games start), then it may become approximately 1-2 practices per week plus 1-2 games that same week. Spring Tball commitments primarily fall on weekdays but Saturday practices or games (rain dates) are possible.

There is no Fall Tball program.

Equipment needed for Tball: Baseball Bat (any bat is acceptable), Baseball Glove, Baseball Pants are suggested (for games and practices) but athletic/sweat pants are acceptable, Baseball Cleats are suggested (for games and practices) but sneakers are acceptable, plus a Batting Helmet with a full metal face guard is suggested (but shared team helmets with a face guard are available too).

MYAA is continuing to monitor the Covid-19 pandemic and we are adjusting our Baseball Safety Plan as needed. We currently have multiple plans prepared for the start of the spring season to ensure that we can safely accomplish our goals.
