2011 BASKETBALL REGISTRATION INFORMATION |

The 2011 basketball registration will be Tuesday 9/27, Thursday 9/29 and Tuesday 10/4 from 6-8PM at the Froelich Park fieldhouse. The registration form is online and available for printing. There is a $50 mandatory fundraising fee and all late registrations after the posted dates are subject to the $20 late fee.

Mountville 6th Grade Travel Basketball Team Wins NIT Championship |

For the second time in three years, the Mountville 6th grade basketball team won the league NIT Championship. The team finished the season with a 13-4 record and outlasted Lampeter Strasburg in the championship game. Congratulations to the 6th grade players and coaches! |

The 5th and 6th grade Mountville travel basketball teams each advanced to the final four of their respective playoffs over the weekend. Both teams play this week with a chance to advance to the championship games. Good luck to the Black Knights! |

Mountville Travel Teams Win Section! |

The 5th and 6th grade boys travel basketball teams each won their section championship this season and head to the playoffs. The 5th grade team finished the season with a 13-2 record and the 6th grade team finished the season with a 10-4 record and undefeated in their section. Congratulations to both teams and good luck in the playoffs! |

Knights of Columbus Basketball Free Throw Championship |

The Knights of Columbus Council 6810 will hold their annual Free Throw Championship Sunday, January 9, 1-5 PM, Hambright Elementary School, 2121 Temple Avenue, Lancaster. The contest is open to all boys and girls ages 10-14, which is determined by a contestant’s age on January 1. Contestants register at the door by filling out a brief entry form. Proof of age and parent or guardian signature are required. There is no fee to enter. All contestants on the local level are recognized for their participation in the event and receive a certificate of participation. Additionally, winners in each age and in each gender category will receive a winner’s certificate and an engraved plaque, and are eligible to move on to district, regional, state, national and international competition levels. Last year more than 344,000 sharpshooters participated in over 4,700 local competitions. The Knights of Columbus is an international family fraternal service organization with nearly 1.7 million members in 14,000 local councils. Last year, Knights donated 68 million volunteer hours and $150 million to charitable and benevolent causes, sponsoring projects to benefit their church, councils, communities, families and youth.
