11/4/2011 MOUNTVILLE A and C TEAMS IN THE PLAYOFFS
  Congratulations to the Mountville A and C Football Teams for making the playoffs. Both teams will be playing Saturday, 11/4/11, at Lancaster Catholic High School. The C Team game will begin promptly at 5PM. The A Team's game will follow the B game, and start approximately 7:30-7:45PM. Come cheer on Mountville as the make the championship run.
10/29/2011 MOUNTVILLE C-JV TEAM PLAYS IN SNOW BOWL
  The Mountville C-JV Team played Elizabethtown's C-JV on Saturday at Froelich Park in Mountville, PA. Ethan Kauffman had the games only score with a 79 TD run. Mountville won the game 6-0.   The football games (A, B, C, D) at Manheim Township, on Sunday October 30th, were moved from the high school to their new complex located at 2883 Weaver Road, Lancaster, PA 17601.

  Due to the heavy rains, local flooding, and the delay in Friday High School games, Mountville footballs games have been moved to Sunday (9/11/11), starting at 12:30PM.

8/15/2011 MOUNTVILLE 10U BASEBALL TEAM WINS SWS WOOD BAT TOURNAMENT
  On Saturday, 8/13, a team of Mountville Section 1 and 2 10U players, coached by John Houser, entered the SWS 10U Wood Bat Tournament in Lampeter, PA. The team won 5 straight games throughout the day, including jumping out to the early lead in the rain-shortened finals against SWS, to win the Tournament. Congrultations to the Mountville Team!
8/12/2011 2011 BASKETBALL REGISTRATION INFORMATION
  The 2011 basketball registration will be Tuesday 9/27, Thursday 9/29 and Tuesday 10/4 from 6-8PM at the Froelich Park fieldhouse. The registration form is online and available for printing. There is a $50 mandatory fundraising fee and all late registrations after the posted dates are subject to the $20 late fee.

8/1/2011 2ND ANNUAL MYAA Bash - Tickets still available
  MYAA will be holding its 2nd Annual Bash fundraiser on Saturday, August 6nd, from 7:00 – 11:00 p.m. at the Millersville VFW.

This fundraiser is open to all friends and parents MYAA athletics.

Tickets are $20/each or $30/couple. Food, Beer, DJ, Dancing and Fun. You must be 21 to enter.

There are a limited number of tickets being sold remaining and will be available on a first-come/first-served basis.

7/20/2011 Mountville Indians Win New Era Tournament
  The Mountville Indians completed their Lancaster League season in dramatic and spectacular fashion by winning the Midget-Midget New Era Tournament with an 8-6 win over Donegal. This was the eighth New Era title for Mountville baseball. Mountville defeated Manor Ridge, Manheim Township, and Donegal in the tournament with a combination of stellar pitching, near flawless defense and clutch hitting. Congratulations to the Indians!!
7/18/2011 2011 FALL BASEBALL REGISTRATION INFORMATION

-Changes in MYAA fee’s. Registration is still $50 for Instructional and $75 for travel. MYAA is now doing mandatory fundraising for all sports and there are late fee’s if you do not sign up on the sign up dates listed above. Possible school use fee’s may also apply as we are currently working out those fee’s with the Hempfield School District. All fee’s to be paid at registration.

Example: 7 year old = $50 registration fee + $50 dollar mandatory fundraiser = $100 at sign up date. Sell your raffle tickets and recoop your $50 dollars for a final fee of $50.

6/29/2011 Mountville Cubs Win 10U Section 1 Championship!
  Congratulations to the Mountville Cubs for winning their second 10U league championship in the last three years. The Cubs ended the season with an undefeated 19-0-1 record by beating Manheim VFW in come-from-behind fashion for the title. Great job to all the Cubs players and coaches on a truly great season!!!
6/28/2011 WHITE SOX WIN INSTRUCTIONAL BASEBALL TOURNAMENT
  Congrulations to the White Sox for winning the Instructional Baseball Tournament this weekend held at the VFW. The tournament was a huge draw with 200-300 people attending throughout the weekend. Congratulations again to the White Sox!
6/21/2011 Mountville Cubs End Regular Season 17-0-1
  Congratulations to the Cubs for going undefeated during the regular season and grabbing the number one seed for the upcoming league playoffs. The Cubs begin their quest for the league championship Monday June 27 at Kunkle Field.
6/21/2011 Mountville Indians Win Manheim Tournament
  Congratulations to the Mountville Indians for winning the Manheim 12U Section 1 tournament on Father's Day weekend with a thrilling come from behind walk off win in the bottom of the 6th inning.
6/13/2011 Mountville Thunder 12U Girls Softball finish 2nd
  The Mountville Thunder 12U Girls Softball finish 2nd in the Columbia tournament this past weekend. Congratulations Thunder!
6/6/2011 ANGELS FINISH RUNNER-UP IN SWS 14U TOURNAMENT
  The 14U Angels finished runner-up (2nd) in the SWS Tournament on Sunday, June 6th. The Angels lost to SWS in the finals after beating Lititz in the semi-finals in one of the most exciting games Coach Ty has seen in a long time. Congratulations Angels!
5/25/2011 BASEBALL/SOFTBALL SUB ORDER PICK-UP
  The baseball/softball sub orders will be available for pick-up today at the Froelich Park Concession Stand from 3:00-7:00PM. Individual players will need to pick up their orders during that time (unless your coach has pre-planned to pick up the entire team's order).
5/16/2011 Mountville Indians Win Mountville Tournament
  Congratulations to the Mountville Indians for winning the Mountville 12U Section 1 tournament. The Indians used solid pitching and defense along with some key hitting to win four straight games and the tournament. Thanks to all the parent volunteers from the Indians and Phillies for making the tournament a success.
5/16/2011 2nd ANNUAL HOME ROME DERBY - SAT 5/21
  The 2nd Annual Mountville Youth Athletic Association will be held on Saturday, May 2st at the Froelich Park Field, 315 Columbia Avenue, Mountville PA.
Contestants compete to hit the most fair balls out of the park. Winner of each Bracket wins a HR Derby Trophy!
Cost is $5 per 10 outs. The event will start at 11am and run to 3pm. Hit off to determine the bracket winners will start at 3:15pm.
The concession stand will be open.

  The Fulton Bank/Mountville office will be holding our annual chicken BBQ on May 14th in the bank parking lot starting at 10am. Chicken halves are $5.50 and full dinners are $8.50. Proceeds are distributed to local charities/non-profit organizations including MYAA. Mark your calendars and stop by for some delicious chicken!!!

3/8/2011 2011 Cheerleading Signups and Tryouts
  Cheerleading Signups for the 2011 season will be held on Thursday 03/17 from 6:00-8:00PM and Saturday 03/19 from 10:00AM - 12:00PM at the Mountville Field House (above the concession stand).

Cheerleading tryouts will be held on Friday April 1st. Practice for tryouts will begin on 03/28-03/31 from 6:00-8:00PM at the Mountville Elementary School.

*NEW THIS YEAR: Mandatory fundraising for Cheerleaders!
All cheerleaders will be required to sell $50 worth of 50/50 raffle tickets to be drawn at the first home football game. Two forms of payment will be due at the time of registration. You will need $60.00 registration fee and $50.00 for the mandatory fundraising (you can earn the money back by selling your raffle tickets). All checks should be made payable to M.Y.A.A.

2/28/2011 Mountville 6th Grade Travel Basketball Team Wins NIT Championship
  For the second time in three years, the Mountville 6th grade basketball team won the league NIT Championship. The team finished the season with a 13-4 record and outlasted Lampeter Strasburg in the championship game. Congratulations to the 6th grade players and coaches!
2/21/2011 Mountville Basketball Teams Advance to Final Four
  The 5th and 6th grade Mountville travel basketball teams each advanced to the final four of their respective playoffs over the weekend. Both teams play this week with a chance to advance to the championship games. Good luck to the Black Knights!
2/17/2011 Hempfield Black Knight Baseball Camp
  When: June 20 – 23, 2011
Where: Hempfield High School Varsity Baseball Field
Time: 9 - 12 Noon
For Whom: Boys entering grades 3 through 9
Cost: $80 which includes registration, Camp T - shirt, and insurance.

Special Offer: If your registration is received by Saturday, June 11, 2011, you can have your name and favorite number placed on the back of your T - shirt at no extra cost.

The camp will feature the Hempfield High School coaching staff. Other guest clinicians will include current and former Hempfield High School players and coaches. The camp will emphasize the fundamentals of hitting, pitching, catching, infield, and outfield play.

2/14/2011 Mountville Travel Teams Win Section!
  The 5th and 6th grade boys travel basketball teams each won their section championship this season and head to the playoffs. The 5th grade team finished the season with a 13-2 record and the 6th grade team finished the season with a 10-4 record and undefeated in their section. Congratulations to both teams and good luck in the playoffs!

1/3/2011 Knights of Columbus Basketball Free Throw Championship
  The Knights of Columbus Council 6810 will hold their annual Free Throw Championship Sunday, January 9, 1-5 PM, Hambright Elementary School, 2121 Temple Avenue, Lancaster. The contest is open to all boys and girls ages 10-14, which is determined by a contestant’s age on January 1. Contestants register at the door by filling out a brief entry form. Proof of age and parent or guardian signature are required. There is no fee to enter. All contestants on the local level are recognized for their participation in the event and receive a certificate of participation. Additionally, winners in each age and in each gender category will receive a winner’s certificate and an engraved plaque, and are eligible to move on to district, regional, state, national and international competition levels. Last year more than 344,000 sharpshooters participated in over 4,700 local competitions. The Knights of Columbus is an international family fraternal service organization with nearly 1.7 million members in 14,000 local councils. Last year, Knights donated 68 million volunteer hours and $150 million to charitable and benevolent causes, sponsoring projects to benefit their church, councils, communities, families and youth.   The Hempfield Rec will be hosting a softball pitchers/catchers clinic. Dates: Jan 9-30 & Feb 6-27 (Sundays) Times: Grades 3-7 (12pm to 1pm). Grades 8-12 (1pm to 2pm).

Registration can be done by calling the Hempfield Rec (717-898-3102) or in person (950 Church Street, Landisville, PA). Anyone interested in being a pitcher is strongly advised to attend. There are openings for 14 pitchers and 14 catchers.

11/17/2010 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED TO HELP PLANT TREES AT VFW
  On Thursday, 11/18/10, at 4:15PM, volunteers are needed to help plant 10 trees at the VFW Baseball field.

Please bring a shovel and strong back to help dig holes and plant the trees. Based on what work gets completed, another volunteer day may be scheduled. Thank you!

6/28/2010 2010 Fall Baseball Sign-ups
  Fall baseball sign ups will be held Wednesday August 4, 2010 from 5PM-7PM at the Froelich Park field house.

We are looking to field an instructional league (IB), 10u, 12u, and 14u. The instructional league will need a minimum of 22 players to be considered a league. If less than 22 players we will run a clinic for the instructional level.

The costs for fall baseball are as follows:

Travel ball (10u, 12u,14u) $75
Instructional $50 (Clinic $35)

6/21/2010 Mountville Indians Win Manheim VFW 12U Tournament
  The Mountville Indians won the Manheim VFW William Travitz Tournament for their third tournament championship of the year. The Indians went 2-1 in the preliminary games and then hit and pitched their way through the semi-final and championship. Congratulations to the Indians!
6/13/2010 Winners of the 1st Annual Home Run Derby
  The first annual Home Run Derby was a huge success. We had 64 entries into the competition. Tim Mertz put on a show hitting 19 (deep) home runs in the 15+ category. Unfortunately, he was not available for the hit off at 3:15.

During the hit off competition, we had two age groups (8U and 12U) that had to go into a second hit off to determine the winner.

The Winners and runner-ups are as follows:

10U: Ryan Moffatt (Ty Vaughn, Ronnie Swantner)
12U: Dylan Good (Andrew DeBard, Ben Miller)

6/11/2010 Mountville Indians Win Mount Joy 12U Tournament
  The Mountville Indians finished what they started several weeks earlier and won the Mount Joy 36th Annual John Myers Memorial Tournament. The preliminary games were played in April, but rain forced the delay of the tournament to June. Congratulations to the Indians!
5/18/2010 Sub Sale Orders are Due - Wednesday May 19th

5/17/2010 Mountville Indians Win Mountville 12U Section 1 Tournament
  The Mountville Indians overcame a slow start in the tournament to win three straight games and win the Mountville Tournament. Despite losing both preliminary games on Saturday, the Indians picked up their play on Sunday and capitalized on giving up the fewest number of runs to earn their place in the semi-finals. From there, the offense came alive, the pitching was excellent, and the Indians played some of their best baseball of the year to take the championship.
5/16/2010 1st ANNUAL HOME RUN DERBY
  MYAA will be holding it's first ever Home Run Derby on Saturday, June 12th.

Contestants compete to hit the most fair balls out of the park. Each contestant can use the adult batting practice pitcher of their choosing
(father, mother, coach, etc. Coaches from MYAA will be available to pitch for any
participants without a BP pitcher)

A contestant gets ten (10) “outs”. $5 for each entry; unlimited entries allowed. Top three
including any ties move to a hit off at the end of the event for each group. We will start with the youngest age group to oldest age group in the hit off. There is only one “all age” category. Winner of each Bracket wins a HR Derby Trophy!

5/15/2010 THE MOUNTVILLE ANGLES WIN THE CHARLIE WELLER MEMORIAL TOURNAMENT!
  The Mountville Angels 14U recently won the Charlie Weller Memorial Tournament host by Lititz VFW.
Tyler Ruhl and Nelson Paredes each homered twice while Josh Brubaker and Dusty Walter added a round tripper apiece. Mountville reached Sunday's championship game after dropping the opener to the host VFW 15-8 and folowed that up with wins over Garden Spot 17-7 (WP Gue) & SALSA 11-6 (WP Beaman). After winning two straight Mountville was set to face Penn Manor in the championship game. The Comets jumped out to a quick 7-0 lead only to see the Angels respond with seven in the top of the second. Over the next three innings, both teams traded runs on this windy Sunday afternoon. Angels ace Tyler Ruhl (WP) kept the Comets within reach until the Angels broke the game open with eight runs in the top of the fifth. After that, the Angels put the game into the hands of closer Zach Getz (save) who shut down the Comets without any further threat. Offensively, the Angels were lead by Matt Gue's 4-4 / 4RBI's, Andrew St Clair's 4-5 /3 runs & Nelson Paredes 3-3/ 3run/ 3RBI attack. Congratulations to the Angels who play in the Mt. Joy Wood Bat tournament May 21-23.
4/29/2010 MOUNTVILLE BASEBALL APPAREL FUNDRAISER
  The Mountville Baseball Apparel Fundraiser sale will run now until Saturday May 8, 2010. The orders will then be ready for approximately 2 weeks later.

The order form is available under the "Forms" section of the site and provides a Tshirt (both standard and womens cut), a sweatshirt and a embroidered Mizuno BP jacket.

No extra quantities will be ordered and this is the only time this season the apparel will be offered, so act now if you want to wear your spirit wear to the games.

A color copy of the order form will be put up at the VFW and Froelich park concession stand however the concessions stands are NOT taking order forms and money. You must submit the order with a team order. Any questions, please see your coach and/or Team Mom.

  For the second straight year, the Mountville 6th grade travel team goes undefeated in their section to win the section title. Congratulations to this Mountville team that also won their section title as 5th graders in 2009.

9/8/2009 Basketball Signups
  MYAA basketball signups are scheduled for Tuesday 9/29 and Thursday 10/1 at the Froelich Park Fieldhouse above the concession stand from 6-8pm. The intramural league is for children in grades 3-6 and there will also be a 5th grade boys travel team, a 6th grade boys travel team, and a 6th grade girls travel team. Parent volunteers are needed to coach, operate the scoreboard, and assist with fundraising. You may complete a registration form and parent code of ethics form and bring it to registration night.   Welcome to this 2009 football/cheerleading season! As part of our ongoing support for our children and their teams/squads, we are getting ready for the launch of this year’s program. The proceeds of this program fund new equipment, uniforms, and insurance. It also helps keep our registration fees to a minimum.

*** Because football pictures are not being taken until September 5, 2009 – the program will hopefully be out by September 20th. All ads must be in by the due date – there can be no exceptions because of the tight schedule. Please have everything turned in on time! ***

We hope that each player/cheerleader will seek at least one advertisement. Let’s make this our best year yet!

  Physicals will be performed on the following dates: August 12 & August 13 during practice.

D & C teams will be on the 12th
B & A teams will be on the 13th

Forms will be available that evening, however parents signatures are also required and the top half portion should be filled out by each player or parent. This form (Red Rose League Player Contract) can be downloaded from the web site MYAA.ORG and filled out ahead of time. There will be a $5.00 fee due at time of exam.

7/2/2009 Mountville Cubs Win 10U Section 1 Championship!
  Cubs win! Cubs win! Cubs win!

The Cubs played a near flawless game to win the 10U Section 1 championship with a 9-0 shutout victory over Hempfield Black. Strong pitching, great defense, and clutch hitting by everyone in the lineup brought home the victory. The Cubs played as one team all year.

Congratulations to the Cubs on an undefeated season with a record of 18-0!
6/25/2009 Mountville Cubs End Regular Season 16-0
  The 10U Mountville Cubs baseball team finished the regular season undefeated with a record of 16-0. Mountville wins their section and heads in to the playoffs as the number one seed with home field advantage throughout.

Come support the Mountville Cubs Monday, June 29th at 6PM at the Mountville VFW.

  Mountville Youth Football will hold its last registration for A,B,C,D and Flag Football 8 a.m.-noon Saturday, Aug. 8, at the Froelich Park field house. First-year players will need a copy of their birth certificate. Download forms on the Forms page (under Football) and complete as follows:

2/28/2009 6th grade boys win basketball playoff championship
  The Mountville boys 6th grade travel basketball team beat Hempfield 33-25 to win the NIT playoff championship. The boys finish the season with a 16-3 record. Congratulations boys!
2/11/2009 5th Grade Boys Basketball End Regular Season 16-0
  The Mountville 5th grade boys basketball team finished the regular season undefeated with a record of 16-0. Mountville wins their section and heads in to the playoffs with a lot of momentum. Congratulations to the team and good luck in the playoffs.

  The Mountville Black Knights 6th grade boys basketball team beat Hempfield for the second time this season to win their section championship with a perfect 8-0 record. Congratulations boys! Let's finish the season strong and get ready for the playoffs!!
